About 24 percent of the 1,941 degrees and certificates handed out by Colorado Mesa University in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency’s National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Junction conferred 221 bachelor’s degrees and 190 certificates in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor’s degree in general business/commerce. Data shows the school gave out 196 bachelor’s degrees in general business/commerce, followed by 194 bachelor’s degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 111 bachelor’s degrees in kinesiology and exercise science.

The university enrolled 9,492 students for 2017-18, including 9,365 in undergraduate programs and 127 in graduate programs.
