The City of Grand Junction announced on Apr. 20 a series of upcoming events aimed at encouraging residents to connect directly with local leadership and elected officials. The city said these opportunities are part of its commitment to transparency, accountability, and building public trust.
City officials said the events will allow residents to engage in open dialogue, receive updates on key initiatives, and ensure community voices are heard in decision-making processes.
The first event is “Community Conversations with City Manager Bennett” at Southwest Arbor Fest on Saturday, April 25 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Lincoln Park near the pool entrance. Residents can participate in casual question-and-answer sessions with the city manager and learn about the Urban Forestry program.
On Friday, May 1 from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Councilmember Laurel Lutz (District D) will host “Meet You There” at the Community Food Bank located at 476 28 1/2 Road. Attendees can tour the facility starting at 12:30 p.m., followed by a community conversation focused on listening and transparency beginning at 1 p.m. Light snacks will be provided.
A spring Town Hall hosted by Grand Junction City Council is scheduled for Monday, May 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Grand Junction High School Auditorium at 1400 N Fifth Street. The event will feature updates on important projects and priorities as well as an opportunity for questions from attendees. No registration is required for this event; additional information is available on EngageGJ.org.
City officials encourage all residents to attend these events in order to ask questions and share their perspectives. They say that participation helps improve service delivery and supports efforts toward greater government transparency.
