Rep. Jeff Hurd, U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, addressed a range of topics in recent posts on his official Twitter account.

On January 6, 2026, Rep. Hurd expressed condolences over the death of a colleague: “I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Congressman Doug LaMalfa this morning. Doug was an exceptional legislator, a steadfast defender of the West, and a genuinely decent man.

Barbora’s and my thoughts and prayers are with Doug’s wife, Jill, and their children during https://t.co/d91VhhaYGe“.

Later that day, he commented on his legislative priorities for Western Colorado: “Washington loves noise. Western Colorado needs results.

This year, I am focused on fixing real problems — water, health care costs, wildfire mitigation, and cutting red tape that makes life harder here at home. Steady progress beats loud politics every time.

Here’s my column” (January 6, 2026).

Two days later, Rep. Hurd announced plans to address Congress regarding the President’s veto: “Headed to the floor NOW to talk about the President’s veto of H.R. 131, the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act. Tune into CSPAN to watch! #CO03 https://t.co/zI5c3nlMpd” (January 8, 2026).

The Arkansas Valley Conduit Act referenced by Rep. Hurd pertains to legislation intended to support water infrastructure projects in southeastern Colorado—a region often challenged by drought conditions and limited water resources.

Rep. Jeff Hurd assumed office in January 2025 as representative for Colorado’s Third District after winning election in November 2024.
