Rep. Jeff Hurd, a U.S. Congressman, recently posted several updates on his Twitter account covering topics from sports to civil rights and local events.
On January 18, 2026, Hurd congratulated the Denver Broncos for their advancement in the NFL playoffs, stating, “What a game! Congratulations to the Broncos for advancing to the AFC championship! #AFCBound #BroncosCountry”.
The following day, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Hurd reflected on the legacy of Dr. King with a post that read: “On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we remember a man who believed that justice, equality, and peaceful protest could change a nation—and history proved him right. Martin Luther King Jr. once asked, ‘What are you doing for others?’ That question still challenges us to look beyond” (January 19, 2026).
Later that same day, Hurd acknowledged Pat Grant’s contributions at the National Western Stock Show by sharing: “Thank you to Pat Grant, former President and longtime leader at the National Western Stock Show, for the in-depth tour of the new Legacy building. The Stock Show has always been a celebration of Western heritage and the ranchers and farmers who keep it alive. Proud to represent” (January 19, 2026).
The National Western Stock Show is an annual event held in Denver celebrating agriculture and livestock industries while promoting western heritage and education among attendees.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed each year in January as a federal holiday commemorating Dr. King’s work toward civil rights through nonviolent activism.
