Rep. Jeff Hurd, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs, recently used his social media platform to highlight key legislative activities and engagements.

On February 12, 2026, Hurd announced his support for election legislation, stating, “Tonight, I voted YES on the Save America Act because protecting the integrity of our elections is a core responsibility of Congress. Requiring identification to vote is a straightforward step that strengthens public confidence in the outcome. Only American citizens should vote”.

Later that day, he referenced a new episode of his podcast with another congressional leader: “Just wrapped Episode 10 of Hurd in the House with special guest @TomColeOK04, Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee and one of the most consequential leaders in Congress. We discussed passing all 12 appropriations bills out of the House for the first time in 29 years,” posted on February 12, 2026.

The following day, Hurd expressed gratitude for engaging with educational leaders representing Native communities: “Thanks to the National Indian Education Association for inviting me to speak with educational leaders from across Indian Country. As Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs, I take Congress’s trust responsibility and the government-to-government”, he wrote on February 13, 2026.

As Chairman of an influential subcommittee focused on Native affairs and an active participant in legislative matters such as election security and federal appropriations processes, Rep. Hurd has positioned himself as a prominent voice within ongoing national policy discussions.
