Rep. Jeff Hurd, U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 3rd congressional district, shared updates on social media regarding recent events and activities in his district and in Congress.
On March 26, 2026, Hurd recognized National Medal of Honor Day and highlighted Pueblo’s unique distinction: “Today we mark National Medal of Honor Day and honor those who have received our nation’s highest military decoration. Here in #CO03, Pueblo is known as the “Home of Heroes,” and is the only city in the country to have had four living Medal of Honor recipients: William J.”
Later that day, Hurd reported a visit to a local tax preparation office in Grand Junction: “Stopped by H&R Block in Grand Junction to talk with Jennifer and her team about how this year’s tax season is shaping up across #CO03. They’re seeing a clear trend. Many filers are taking home more than they did last year. Jennifer walked me through a few anonymized returns” The congressman noted that many taxpayers are experiencing higher take-home pay compared to the previous year.
On March 27, 2026, Hurd addressed federal research investments during a committee hearing: “In yesterday’s Science, Space, and Technology Committee hearing, I questioned how federal research investments are being applied to strengthen regional security and maintain stability. These programs should support innovation through partnerships with universities and research” He emphasized the importance of these programs fostering innovation through collaboration with academic institutions.
Pueblo’s reputation as the “Home of Heroes” refers to its history of having four living Medal of Honor recipients at one time—a distinction not held by any other city in the United States. Rep. Jeff Hurd serves Colorado’s 3rd congressional district, which includes Pueblo and Grand Junction.
