MESA COUNTY: Dust Control on County Gravel Roads

1000money

Mesa County issued the following announcement on June 9.

On Monday, June 8, Mesa County Commissioners approved a $250,000 contract for dust control on county gravel roads. The product can be used as a dust suppressant or stabilizer for roads that are going to be chip sealed.

There are approximately 88 miles of gravel roads in Mesa County. This year, about 407,000 gallons of dust control will be applied.

Mesa County Road and Bridge solicited for an environmentally safe, non-corrosive product to enhance the performance of gravel road maintenance. The request for proposal (RFP) states: “The product shall be non-chloride, non-corrosive, penetrating and water-resistant, specifically engineered for gravel road dust control and stabilization.” The contract was awarded to Enviroad LLC.

Earthbind, a dust control product by Enviroad LLC, has proven to help with gravel road maintenance reducing about 60% of future prep work after the initial application, which saves Mesa County money and time and provides a cleaner, longer-lasting product.
