MESA COUNTY: K&D Construction, Inc. begins E Road Improvements Phase 2 Project in Grand Junction

Construction

Mesa County issued the following announcement on Oct. 8.

The original planned road closure beginning Sept. 21, 2020, was delayed due to unforeseen project delays.  The project location is E Road, between 31 Road and Agape Way, in Grand Junction, Colorado.

TRAVEL AND ACCESS IMPACTS: Beginning Monday, Oct. 12, the road will be closed from 31 Road to Agape Way. Local access will be provided to residents inside the project limits. We encourage all other traffic to use the detour as marked. Xcel Energy’s Contractor Q3 will continue relocating the gas line from 31 Road east to Agape Way, on the southside of E Road. Sturgeon Electric will begin relocating the power poles from Agape Way west to 31 Road, on the northside of E Road.  In addition, CenturyLink will be relocating the phone line from 31 Road east to Agape Way, on the northside of the E Road.  General Contractor, K&D Construction, Inc., will begin the clearing and grubbing operations and the installation of the Clifton Water District waterline and Clifton Sanitation District sewer line on the east end of E Road near Casey Way and Mountain Drive.

The project consists of a full-depth street reconstruction and widening with new curb, gutter, sidewalk, storm drain, and water and sewer relocation. Electric, gas, phone and cable lines, and services will also be relocated by the individual utility providers to make way for the street widening project. Irrigation work will also be a part of the project, but no disruptions are planned at this time.

The project has an anticipated completion date of Oct. 31, 2021, and will be in operation Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
