City of Grand Junction issued the following announcement on Nov. 25.
The City of Grand Junction invites the community to attend the Parks, Recreation, Open Space (PROS) Master Plan Draft Presentation. Due to the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic, the presentation will be held virtually via Zoom at 9:00 A.M. on December 1. Please see the login information below to attend the virtual presentation. A recording of the presentation will also be available for viewing and comment at www.gjparksandrec.com starting Tuesday, December 1st.
During the PROS Master Plan Draft Presentation the consultant team, GreenPlay, will present the main take-a-ways from the plan. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions and provide comments throughout the presentation.
The PROS Master Plan began in July of 2020 and is expected to be finalized by the end of December 2020. Over the past several months, information for the plan was gathered through public meetings, focus groups, and a statistically valid survey, which was mailed to 6,000 randomly selected residents. Over 2,100 surveys were completed, which helped develop the plan’s priorities. In addition to collecting community input, a level of service analysis and an inventory of assets was conducted on the current Parks and Recreation System. The PROS Master Plan will provide clear direction for parks and recreation services, facilities, and amenities for the next 5-8 years.
