CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION: City Weekly COVID-19 Update for December 4, 2020

Coronavirus update920

City of Grand Junction issued the following announcement on Dec. 4.

Four City of Grand Junction employees tested positive for COVID-19 this week. These employees are currently quarantining as part of the recovery process. Any additional staff members who may have been exposed are also quarantining.

All City employees monitor symptoms daily and track symptoms at the beginning of every working shift. In addition to daily symptom monitoring and tracking, in-person interactions are limited, and masks are required during in-person interactions and while working inside. The City developed a mask policy that went into effect April 13, 2020 following the Governor’s guidelines.

The City of Grand Junction continues to help slow the spread by offering residents options for virtual engagement with their local government. Residents are still encouraged to conduct business with the City virtually or over the phone. A full list of services is available on our website. The City is also providing alternative ways for residents to participate in public meetings. The public can participate remotely in public meetings using the following methods:

  • In Advance of the Council Meeting – Call 244-1504 and leave a voicemail message for Council before noon on the day of the meeting. Please specify that the message is intended for the Council meeting. Messages will be played and entered into the record at the next Council meeting. Written comments should be submitted before noon on the day of the meeting. The link to the comment form is on the top of the City Council agenda.
  • View the Live Stream – You can watch a live stream of the meeting online from the comfort and safety of your home. The meeting will be live streamed on our website. Meetings that are live streamed will have a camera or "Live" icon next to them on the list. Select the button to watch the meeting live.
  •  View the Live Broadcast – Tune to cable channel 191 to watch the City Council meeting.
  • Participate in Real Time Virtually – View the resources and tips and tricks guide to become familiar with the virtual meeting platform and prepare for the meeting. Follow the link that is posted on the top of the City Council agenda for that meeting.
The City of Grand Junction remains committed to providing services to the community and will continue to modify services as appropriate in response to the pandemic. The City will continue to work with Mesa County Public Health to monitor the situation. The health and safety of the public and staff remains a top priority.
