Tigers Open Mountain West Slate vs. Fresno St. and San Jose St.

The Colorado College women's soccer team opens play in the Mountain West this week. The Tigers travel to the West Coast for a match at Fresno State on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m. (MT), followed by a contest against San Jose State at Stewart Field on Sunday, Sept. 25, beginning at noon. LAST TIME OUT

The Tigers closed out their non-conference slate with a 2-1 loss at Big East opponent Creighton University on Sept. 9. For the sixth consecutive match, CC allowed its opponent to score the opening goal. This time, it came in the 13th minute. Azumi Manriki sent a through ball to Hannah Luke, who struck a shot from the left side of the box towards the far post. CC goalkeeper Ally Wakeman made a beautiful kick save, but the ball went right to Jenny Grissom, who was on the doorstep and scored. The Tigers evened things up when Josie Morales scored her second of the season in the 58th minute. Kaelin Woodruff sent a left-footed cross into the box that Creighton keeper Keelan Terrell came out to knock away, but Adelaide Gaffney shielded her and the ball bounced right to Morales, who headed it into the open net. The Bluejays regained the lead for good just 1:18 later when Lara Kazandjian fired a rocket from the just outside the top of the box that found the upper right corner past Wakeman. WATCH THE TIGERS
