Event Description:The Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with local businesses and organizations to bring our FACC members an exclusive 6-month program to help your business develop better practices for your current workforce and attain new employees through internship opportunities. The Next Step program will prepare your business to take the next step by adding to its workforce while providing you an opportunity to give the future workforce a place to take the first step in their career. Class details: 1-hour class once per month at alternating locations Lunch is included   Class 1: October 5th at 12 pm ? Program Overview, Job Descriptions, Resume Reviewing and Employee Reviews with BBSI        Location: BBSI 120 W Park Dr. Suite 108 Grand Junction   Class 2: November 2nd at 12 pm - Standard Operating Procedures and Employee Training with Dragon Heating & AC       Location: Dragon Heating & AC 156 S Park Square, Fruita   Class 3: December 7th at 12 pm - Work Experience Program and On the Job Training Program with Mesa County Workforce Center       Location: Mesa County Workforce Center 512 29 1/2 Rd. Grand Junction   Class 4: January 4th at 12 pm - Internships, Apprenticeships and Job Shadowing with Colorado Mesa University Career Services and Mesa County Valley School District       Location: Colorado Mesa University    Class 5: February 1st @ 12 pm - Implementing Internships with GROWL Agency       Location: 750 Main Street Suite 202  Class 6: March 1st @ 5:30 pm Class Graduation - Speed Interviewing with CMU Career Services and Students ready to accept internship opportunities       Locations: Colorado Mesa University Campus  The goal of this program is to help our members implement quality employee recruitment and training processes to maximize their employee retention and reduce staffing headaches. At the end of six months, you will have the systems in place, position defined and confidence to hire an intern to support your business.   You are required to attend all classes to graduate and there is no cost to attend. This is an exclusive event for Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce members and will be offered to register twice per year.
