Adams County is excited to announce the hiring of Nikki Kimbleton as the new Communications director. With more than 20 years of experience in journalism, public relations, and crisis management, Kimbleton brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the role.

Kimbleton most recently served as director of Communications and Public Affairs for the City of Jacksonville, Florida, where she led the communications efforts for 18 departments and the mayor's office. Throughout her tenure, she gained extensive experience in emergency and crisis communications and was named the 2021 Crisis Communicator of the Year by PR Daily.

“My professional and personal values align perfectly with the vision, mission, and goals of Adams County and its Board of Commissioners - and those goals exemplify what I believe is the credo of every public servant: others first,” said Kimbleton. “I’m also honored and inspired to join a team of individuals who care so deeply about the people they serve. I sincerely look forward to joining this community and helping build a better future for every resident here in Adams.”

Kimbleton will begin her new role on Feb. 1 and will be responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies to promote Adams County and keep residents informed.

"Effective communication with our residents is of the utmost importance in providing quality public services. Nikki's extensive experience in communications, crisis management, and journalism will be a valuable asset to our county as we continue to grow and diversify in a post-pandemic environment,” said County Manager Noel Bernal.

“We are thrilled to have her on board and are confident she will excel in her role as the new Communications director."

In addition to her experience in communications and crisis management, Kimbleton had an award-winning career in journalism, receiving an Emmy and a Murrow award. She is a graduate of Troy University with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
