Western Breaks Ground on Mountaineer Bowl Events Complex Renovation
Western Colorado University leaders and supporters have broken ground on what will likely be a $15 million project—renovating the nation’s highest football stadium. The renovation is being made possible through a generous lead commitment by alumnus Paul M. Rady (class of 1978) and his wife, Katy. The gift comes on the heels of another transformative gift which established the Rady School of Computer Science & Engineering in partnership with the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Saseen Co-Authors National Lipid Association Official Scientific Statement on Statin Intolerance
The National Lipid Association (NLA) announced the release of its official scientific statement on Statin Intolerance: A New Definition and Key Considerations for Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) Risk Reduction in the Statin Intolerant Patient. Statins are a class of medications that lower cholesterol and reduce cardiovascular events and cardiovascular death in patients at risk for ASCVD. The statement provides updates on the evidence-based facts about statins and statin intolerance and makes practical recommendations to aid clinicians in determining a therapeutic objective in contemporary clinical practice.

When Gary Schneider and Lucas Atwood started a virtual personal training company in college, they soon couldn’t keep up with the volume of training requests they got. After dealing with the struggle of putting together tailored workout plans for clients, factoring in health changes and monitoring progress all at once, they turned to Atwood’s brother, who has a Ph.D. in machine learning, with a question: Could they use artificial intelligence to do that work for them?
